Petition for Paid Maternity Leave

Unions NSW has launched its Paid Maternity Leave Petition (attached below) which is addressed to Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and the Productivity Commission Inquiry into Paid Parental Leave.

Unions NSW is calling for six months of paid maternity leave for all women -- working or not, including casuals, part time, contractors and full time.

Please send the petition (or this web address) far and wide and encourage people to sign.

Unions NSW are hoping to have a large pile of petitions by the 20 May when the Productivity Commission will hold a public hearing in Sydney, and an even larger pile for September when the Commission makes an interim report.

The Commission has set up a section for the Public Inquiry into Paid Maternity, Paternity and Parental Leave on its website.
