CPSU/SPSF federal office & staff
University General Staff across the country provide the largest slice of work for the national office of the Community & Public Sector Union..
They have carriage of national agreements and awards which underpin the various university agreements. Examples are the recently negotiated conditions for casual staff which gives them the opportunity to become permanent, and the Higher Education Contract of Employment Award.
The national office staff also provide direct assistance to state unions/branches, e.g. David Mendelssohn is currently (August 03) assisting with Sydney University negotiations. Nevertheless most of the university work is done by the PSA staff and staff of other state public service unions.
The two main national industrial staff working on university matters are David Mendelssohn and David Carey, but other staff can be assigned to university matter as required.
