Pay claim to Commission on Friday

Date: 03 June 97
Author: Public Service Association of NSW

The PSA and Public Employment Office have reached agreement on the proposed Crown Employees (Public Sector Salaries 1997) Award.

The agreement consists of a "Heads of Agreement", a "Co-operative Negotiation Agenda", and Public Employment Commissioner's letter of offer which provides for the continuation of special cases for Psychologists and General Assistants in Schools.

These two special cases, carried over from the 1995 Award, were the sticking points in the final stages of negotiations.

The Psychologists Branch Committee and the General Assistants Branch Committee have considered their respective offers and have accepted them. (See separate News Items.)

The claim will be heard by the NSW Industrial Commission on Friday 6 June. Both the union and employer will ask for the agreement to be made into an award, the Crown Employees (Public Sector Salaries 1997) Award.

The Heads of Agreements and Co-operative Negotiations Agenda will be added as a News Item shortly.

The schedule of pay rises is listed in a previous News Item, "it's 16% over three years", published on May 12.
