July 30 Day of Action against the Iemma/Costa pay policy

23 July 2008

At Monday's Unions NSW meeting the following details of events for July 30th were decided.

A rally of delegates and activists at 11a.m. in Farrer Place outside Governor Macquarie Tower. Members are invited to attend and we would like to see lots of people in uniform to identify some of the public services which suffer if employees look elsewhere for jobs where they will be better paid and treated.

Unions to initiate actions for the day that won't inconvenience the public. The PSA is still collecting ideas from delegates. Delegates get you suggestions in by close of business tomorrow. Send suggestions to Anthony D'Adam on adadam@psa.asn.au

PSA staff and members will be leafleting a city railway station in the morning (probably Town Hall) and at lunchtime in Martin Place and Pitt Street Mall. If we get volunteers for other areas or a surplus in the city we will leaflet other areas. Send your name and telephone number to Anthony D'Adam at adadam@psa.asn.au by close of business tomorrow so we have a good idea of what we can organise. (Late acceptances will be accepted for this job.)

A leaflet for distribution outlining the union's case to be produced by Unions NSW. If you require supplies send your name, address and number required to Anthony D'Adam at adadam@psa.asn.au by close of business tomorrow (Thursday) so that Unions NSW know numbers to print.

Unions to seek that a delegation meet with Premier Iemma.
