Planning the July 30 Day of Action against Iemma's pay cuts16 July 2008The object of July 30 is to roll back Iemma's pay cut policy by making the public aware of services we provide and showing them the services which are at risk if employees' pay is eroded. The major activity will be leafleting at public gathering places. As well public sector unions are asking their members to organise activities which inconvenience the Iemma Government but do not impact on the public. We are asking members to join us for pre-work and lunch-time leafleting. And there will be a mid-morning media event in Farrer place, Sydney at which members are welcome. The PSA will be assigned one of the Sydney CBD stations to leaflet, and then we will leaflet Martin Place and Pitt St Mall. Members can also organise their own events and "annoying" activities. Delegates are asked to confer among themselves, among members, and with their PSA Industrial Officer/Organiser about possible activities. Please do this as soon as possible because:
Send your proposals, offers to help and questions back to me at lcarr@psa.asn.au and I will ensure they get to the organising committee, your industrial officer/organiser, and/or the Executive as needs be. Contact Details Les Carr Ph: 02 9290 1555 Fax: 02 9262 1623 lcarr@psa.asn.au |
