Community rally against the power sell-off at Costa's office, Friday 18th

09 April 2008

As part of the campaign against the proposed power industry privatisation, unions and community groups are lobbying Labor Members of the NSW Parliament. Those that are supporting privatisation or being non-committal are facing protest action designed to highlight their positions to the public.

On Friday week there will be a community rally outside the office of NSW Treasurer Michael Costa.

It starts at 1:00pm Friday 18th April
At Michael Costa's office, 26 Honeysuckle Drive, Newcastle

Most people oppose the power sell-off - this activity is to demonstrate to the local member the depth of feeling and anger in the community regarding his support for power privatisation.

PSA members are encouraged to be there if possible and to encourage family and friends to let Mr Costa know what they think.

And if you want to send Mr Costa a personal message the contact points are costa.office@minister.nsw.gov.au or his Ministerial office phone 9228 5665, or by mail to 26 Honeysuckle Drive, Newcastle.

PLEASE DISTRIBUTE THIS NOTICE TO COLLEAGUES, FAMILY & FRIENDS IN THE NEWCASTLE REGION.

Don't sit back and let Costa and the NSW Government hand over OUR assets to the private sector!

The rally is being organised by Newcastle Trades Hall Council and supporting groups and citizens.
