PSA Annual Women's Conference 2006
Date: 7th and 8th September 2006
Venue: Unions NSW, Auditorium, 377-383 Sussex St, Sydney

This year's Conference is a clarion call folr women's rights at work. Come along and hear some exciting speakers including:

  • Jenny Macklin, Deputy Federal Labor Leader on "Federal Labor's industrial relations policies and women workers"
  • Carmel Tebbutt, NSW Minister for Education on "Protecting NSW public servants from the ravages of Workchoices"
  • Ariadne Vromen, Senior Lecturer, University of Sydney on "Getting more young people to join unions".

All women nominating must be financial members of the PSA.

To make the opportunity to attend the Conference fairer for all, priority for places will be given to Women's Councillors, Central Councillors, elected delegates from workplace groups, and then self nominees (with priority given to those who have not attended Conference before).

Special leave is available dependent on attendance for the whole day(s).

Country members can have travel costs (via the most economical method) reimbursed and will receive an allowance to subsidise accommodation and meals. Payment of these costs will be in accordance with present PSA policy on delegates' expenses. Further details on amounts will be provided to you with the acceptance letter.

Childcare at Annual Women's Conference

The PSA will only provide childcare for infants to preschool age children, however if a member can demonstrate special circumstances or hardship the PSA will access each case on its merits; the final decision in all cases will be made by the General Secretary.
