Family Picnic Day in Wagga Wagga

15 July 2005

Today seven local unions met to organise a local family picnic day to be held on Sunday 7 August 2005 at the Wagga Botanical Gardens between 11.00am and 3.00pm.

This event will coincide with the major event that is to occur at Sydney Olympic Park on the same day.

This will be a show of unity against Prime Minister John Howard's proposed changes to the industrial relations system as we know it. These events it will give the community a chance to express their concerns on how these proposed changes may impact upon them.

The combined unions hope to attract as many people and families as possible from throughout the whole community.

On the day there will be free children's rides, balloons and face painting. There will be a range of guest speakers on the proposed industrial relations changes. Further meetings will be scheduled prior to the fun day.
