Parklea prison officers stay out – request state-wide support

Parklea met this morning and voted to reject a proposal from the Department.

Parklea members are demanding two officers by three shifts to provide appropriate security levels for the complex. The Parklea motion calls for support statewide.

All gaols are to hold an immediate stopwork meeting to vote in support for Parklea.

The State Executive supports the action taken by Parklea Gaol.

All Sub-Branches to fax motions from meetings to PSA on 9262 1623.

PARKLEA MOTION:

We the Parklea POVB Sub Branch, request the support of all Sub Branches throughout the State to assist the members at Parklea Correctional Complex achieve a safer more secure work environment. Furthermore to this the Department has yet again refused to lodge our dispute into the Industrial Relations Court as we are now into our third day of strike action.
