POVB’s new News Service

The PSA's Prison Officers Vocational Branch has set up an e-mail news service to expand communications with prison officers.

We think there are now enough prison officers with personal computers to make this a viable service. Unlike the majority of PSA members, prison officers do not have ready access to computers at work.

The starting list is drawn from the PSA membership database and the PSA's general news broadcast list.

The recipients are being asked to tell fellow officers about the news service and that they can be on the list (providing they are PSA/POVB members).

Any prison officers who wish to join the list can send their names and e-mail addresses to Emma Darby, the PSA staff member who will be administering the broadcasts for the POVB Executive - Emma is at edarby@psa.asn.au

The list is confidential.

We will continue to send fax broadcasts to the jails and courts. The new email service will speed up and expand our communications.
