Orange Campus transfer to Charles Sturt University18 November 2004The following update is the report (edited) that went to November PSA Central Council. . . the CPSU/PSA has been negotiating with both the University of Sydney and Charles Sturt University over the proposal to transfer the Orange Campus from Sydney to Charles Sturt, and to discontinue the undergraduate nursing program at Sydney University. Agreement has now been reached between the CPSU and USyd and CSU as to the in-principle agreements which will govern the transfer arrangements. As part of this agreement an implementation committee has been established, representative of CPSU, NTEU (the academics' union), Charles Sturt and Sydney. In relation to Orange the first meeting will be held on Wednesday 17 November. As well there will be joint meetings of the previous negotiating committee to develop an agreement which effects the legal transfer. The University of Sydney Senate approved the transfer arrangements at its last meeting on Monday 1 November. An implementation Committee is also to meet to resolve issues arising in relation to the cessation of the undergraduate nursing program, about which agreement has also been reached.
