DADHC DISABILITY SERVICES DISPUTE -- UPDATE 9 NOVEMBER

09 November 2004

The DADHC PSA Departmental Committee met yesterday, 8 November, to consider the Department's offer of 3 November.

The Committee was of the view that the proposal did not satisfy the Union's demands and was not sufficient to avert the strike action. The Department was informed of the Committee's decision late yesterday afternoon.

This morning (9.11.04) the Department issued an updated proposal to the Association. The proposal is being considered by the Executive Members of the Departmental Committee today. It is expected that we will be required to appear in the Industrial Commission later today or early tomorrow morning.

Negotiations are continuing between the parties in the hope of resolving the dispute but the direction to members to strike on 16 and 17 November remains in force at this time.

The website will be updated regularly to keep members informed.
