Wollongong Uni Centre bargaining

"That the Executive endorses the decision of members to reject the current Wollongong University Centre pay offer."

The union is bargaining a new Agreement to replace the current Agreement that nominally expired in 2007.

Management want a two tiered Agreement to preserve entitlements for current staff but offer lesser long service leave and superannuation entitlements to new staff and staff that are on AWAs.

The pay offer of 2.5 per cent for a two year agreement and CPI in the second year.

These claims have been rejected by the union members.

To accept the offer would mean members would only receive 3 per cent (1 per cent was paid in 2007) for 2007/2008.
