Alex Smith of Premiers & Cabinet presented a report on the World Youth Day to the P&C JCC on 6 August.

Tribute was paid to the Public Sector employees who participated in the operation of the World Youth Day leading to the successful outcome of World Youth Day.

The public sector committee formed to overview the World Youth Day will gradually be phased out by the end of the year.

Footnote: Alex Smith who was responsible for co-ordinating the public sector involvement in the World Youth Day retired from the Public Service after forty years service on the 8 August 2008. Alex Smith was a member of the Association from June 1969.
