Pecuniary interest within the DET Audit Division.

The DET Audit Directorate has instructed staff members below the level of Senior Officer to complete intrusive and unnecessary pecuniary interests documentation.

A discussion with the Director of Audit and Risk Management did not resolve the issue and accordingly, the DET Deputy Director General with responsibility for the pecuniary interest register, has been advised that the PSA seeks consultation on both the policy and its application to employees below the level of Senior Officer.

A reply was received from the DET advising that they believe this is the most appropriate way to ensure there is no conflict of interest and protect the privacy of staff.

PSA members in this division are still unhappy with the situation.

A meeting with DET is being set up to further negotiate a more satisfying outcome for members.
