Southern Cross University General Staff Classifications

Consistent with undertakings agreed to by the parties in the last round of enterprise bargaining the University have commissioned a review of general staff classification procedures. The review was conducted by Baldwin Consulting and included consultation with general staff and the union.

The University have circulated a discussion paper which makes a number of recommendations based on the consultant's report.

The University and the union has agreed to establish a working party to discuss amendments to the classification procedure.

The classification descriptors and the content requirements of positions descriptions are enshrined in the enterprise agreement and will not be subject to any changes in policy.
