Commerce flexible working hours ballot

Executive, 28 April 2008

Decision

Report adopted

Report

As a result of the recommendation by the NSW IRC (IRC2007/2157) the Department began negotiations on 11 December 2007 with the PSA, APSEMA and Unions NSW regarding a flexible working hours agreement to replace current flexible working hours arrangements throughout the Department.

After extensive negotiations an in-principle agreement was reached between the parties on 13 March 2008.

PSA Executive approved the "Commerce Local Working Hours Agreement" on 31 March 2008 for a ballot of our members and endorsed the planning and implementation of a yes campaign in support of the Agreement.

A ballot paper and covering letter has been posted to all financial members covered by the proposed Agreement. The ballot closes on Friday 2 May 2008.

Members have also been informed by email and via leaflets that have been distributed at the workplace that the PSA endorses the proposed Agreement.

A report back to the NSW Industrial Relations Commission is scheduled for 7 May.
