The Public Services International (PSI) Sub Regional Women's Committee Meeting was held on 3 March at PSA House.

Unions represented were PSA, CPSU (SPSF group), Cook Island Workers Association, Fiji Nursing Association, Fiji PSA, New Zealand PSA, Papua New Guinea PEA, Samoa PSA, Tonga Nurses Association and the Vanuatu National Workers Union. Observers from the Public Service Union of East Timor were also present.

CPSU (SPSF), our national union, was the host for the conference.

PSI is the global union federation for public sector trade unions and represents approximately 650 trade unions from 150 countries that organise more than 20 million public sector workers world wide. Australian and Pacific unions are part of the Oceania sub region.

The Sub Regional Women's Committee recommended the following areas to the World Women's Committee as key areas for the coming year:

  1. Pay Equity
  2. Migration
  3. Water, Women and Health
  4. Climate Change
  5. ILO Core Conventions
