Western Sydney TAFE – Library Statements of Duty

In response to the creation of the Crown Employees (Librarians, Library Assistants, Library Technicians and Archivists) Award 2005, which codifies descriptors for library staff employed at TAFE, management at Western Sydney TAFE have created a set of draft statements of duty for librarians and library technicians employed in the Institute.

These were provided to the PSA in late December 2007, and we are in the final stages of holding a series of consultation meetings with our members across the Institute. We will then provide feedback to the Institute.

Further wherever TAFE Institutes seek to vary existing statements of duty or introduce new statements we will ensure there is an internal compliance process that provides for state wide consistency across TAFE libraries.
