Tourism, Arts, Sport & Recreation – Program Officers Award

Executive, 25 February 2008

Decision

Report adopted

Report

The Award was recently listed for a Section 19 Review. The Department took this opportunity to propose three central changes to the Award. Thet are:

Hours of Duty and On Call relating to Bivouac: The bivouac is a traditional activity offered to groups. Currently all overnight hours are counted as being On Duty. The Department proposes that hours worked up until the time that the 'campers' fall asleep would be deemed as 'on duty'. The time worked after that would be paid by way of a non established camping allowance as defined within the Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Reviewed Award 2006.

Public Holidays: The clause has been amended to reflect current custom and practice.

Compensatory Leave: The Department is proposing a change of counting of hours from weekly to four-weekly basis for calculating "excess hours". This will have a direct impact on our member's ability to accrue compensatory leave per year.

It was agreed that the PSA would have to consult with its members regarding these proposed changes.
