Delegates will recall that the union successfully arbitrated a dispute against CSU. The dispute concerned the ability of the University to suspend a staff member without pay where the collective agreement did not allow for suspension without pay.

The University, through its employer group the AHEIA, appealed the decision.

The union was successful in the appeal before the full bench of the AIRC.

The University was ordered to pay our member for the time he was suspended without pay.
