Assaults at DADHC Group Home

Members contacted the Association concerning an incident that occurred at a Group Home on 28th July 2007.

The incident resulted from a respite client having being moved into the house without any plans and within 24 hours assaulted 2 staff members.

Members contacted their local medical practitioners regarding the incident and injuries who reported the matter to WorkCover.

The Association has also reported the matter to WorkCover seeking their investigation to the incident.

Further, the Association has written to the Area Manager asking what action the Department is taking and they have initially advised that the particular resident has been removed from the house and will not be returning at this stage.
