Briefing by RTA CEO to PSA Representatives

Central Council, 9 October 2006

Decision

Report adopted

Report

PSA representatives were briefed by the RTA's Chief Executive Officer on 19 September 2006 regarding the RTA's proposal called 'RTA Directions 2006/2007'.

The CEO advised that the RTA Executive would be reduced from nine (9) Directors to seven (7). This would lead to a realignment of all RTA branches, which will be:-

  • Licensing, Registration and Freight Directorate
  • Network Planning, Road Maintenance and Traffic Management Directorate
  • Major Infrastructure Directorate
  • Business Co-ordination, Road Safety and Policy Directorate
  • Regional Operations and Engineering Services Directorate
  • Finance and Commercial Development Directorate
  • Corporate Services and Reform Directorate

This proposal will not lead to any job losses, merely realignment of management reporting lines to all affected staff.

The Business Reform change proposals and other issues as outlined in last month's Central Council Report will remain on foot.
