30 JULY - DAY OF ACTION

The offer is way below inflation and means that public service staff are effectively taking a PAY CUT.

The aim of the day of action is for activities that do not disrupt the public to take place but that the public and the government will notice.

What can you do? Here are some suggestions from delegates:

• Make some stickers (or badges) to wear that say "Come on Mr Costa - Fair Days Pay for a Fair Days Work".

• Work to rule for the day - no favours!

• Wear a sticker that says "Petrol, groceries and rent going up, Public Service Salaries going down".

• Have discussions with parents and the school community about the pay claim.

• Refuse to organise the banking for the day of action.

• Raise the awareness of the School Community through the school newsletter.

There will be rallies in some areas. If you are in any of the following areas try to get along to the rallies.
