DADHC Salary Overpayment Notifications

03 July 2008

Recently, the PSA received several calls from concerned DADHC members regarding a letter they received from Businesslink titled "Salary Overpayment: NOTIFICATION"

If you received one of these letters, then please do the following:

  1. Contact the Business Service Centre on (02) 9765 3999
  2. Request a copy of your payslip and sign-on sheet from the period in question, if available.
  3. Request that a full audit be conducted by Businesslink of the overpayment amount.
  4. Finally, request a reference number for your call and store this number in a secure place.
Only when you are completely satisfied that the overpayment amount is correct, should you then elect to repay the amount.

You may pay back the amount in full OR pay it off gradually by making fortnightly instalments from your pay. You are entitled to request gradual repayments of an amount that you are able to afford.

Businesslink cannot deduct any monies from your pay without your approval.

Do not feel pressured to pay back the amount immediately. You have time to request for an audit or review.

The PSA suggests that you speak with your accountant. You can claim back the tax from the gross amount and that way you will not be disadvantaged by the overpayment.

For further information please contact your Organiser or Industrial Officer at the PSA on (02) 9220 0968.
