Police -- lifting of proposed Bans and Limitations

06 February 2008

Re: Lifting of proposed Bans and Limitations over the proposed General Administrative Support Officer (GASO) positions in Local Area Commands.

Dear Members,

The PSA advises you that the NSW Police Force took the PSA to the Industrial Relations Commission today, (6th of February) in relation to the proposed Bans and Limitations to be effective Midnight, Thursday, 7th February 2008.

At the IRC the PSA raised its concerns over the implementation of the GASO positions including the gradings, shift work/flexible work practices and what work would not be carried out because of cuts to positions. A recommendation from the IRC was that the parties visit an affected LAC and consult with staff. A report back has been scheduled this Friday, 8th of February.

The Association has given its assurance that proposed Bans and Limitations will not be imposed whilst this process takes place.

Should you require further information in respect of the above, please contact your local workplace delegate, or PSA A/Industrial Officer Paul Toole or PSA Organiser Chris Papadopoulos on 9290 1555 or police@psa.asn.au
