Sydney Harbour Tunnel E-Tag Proposal -- Staff Reorganisation and New Rosters

The PSA and the RTA last met on the 11th July concerning the RTA's proposal to reorganise staffing numbers and introduce new rosters for toll collection staff on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

At this stage the RTA is aware of the number of staff who have lodged an Expression of Interest for consideration of an offer of Voluntary Redundancy. The finalisation of a timeline for the offering of VR's is dependent on the RTA providing the PSA with the number of toll collectors it will need to employ for the ongoing Sydney Harbour bridge tolling operation.

Once that figure is available the parties will be able to finalise negotiations on how VR's will be offered, the timeline and the ongoing rostering arrangements for remaining staff.

With the current transition of staff from the tunnel to the bridge, any issues concerning the transition arrangements should be referred to your local delegates.

Once we have been provided with the information requested in the attached letter. Negotiations will recommence on the final operations issues for all members.

Meetings will be held to brief members on those negotiations at a date and time to be relayed through local delegates.
