Direct Debit – Why Shift from Payroll Deduction?

19 April 2006

PSA/CPSU is asking its university members to move the PSA/CPSU fee payments from payroll deduction to direct debit from members' accounts.

Direct debit may either be from a bank account (or account at other institutions eg credit union) or from a credit card account.

While the number of members paying by direct deposit is increasing, most still pay by payroll deduction.

Payroll deductions can no longer be regarded as secure and reliable.
Employers can cut them off anytime and they cannot be secured in enterprise agreements.

To ensure your PSA/CPSU member is in your hangs move to direct debits.

The bulletin attached below tells why.

And check here for the "Change to Direct Debit Today" Form
