DADHC Met SW & Met SE amalgamation

11 August 2005

The Director General of DADHC has announced an amalgamation of the Metropolitan South East and Metropolitan South West Regions.

At a briefing with the PSA yesterday, 10 August 2005, the Director General gave assurances that there would be no deletion of front line jobs. The amalgamation will involve an alignment of management positions above the level of Network Managers. Please note the Network Manager positions will not be affected.

The Director General also advised that the Department would be looking at better arrangements between the Network Manager positions and the current Manager positions.

For the moment Ms Lauren Murray, Regional Director, Metro South West, will take up the position of Director of the amalgamated Region and it will be "business as usual" in each of the two Regions.

The PSA will be having consultation with the Department over the next few weeks on the details of the amalgamation and the resulting industrial issues impacting on our members.

We will keep members informed through regular updates on the PSA's internet site and will be convening meetings when further details are available.

If you have any concerns or questions about this, please contact Ayshe Lewis at the PSA on (02) 9220 0968 or alewis@psa.asn.au.
