UWS library shelvers being short-changed

The University of Western Sydney is trying to avoid payment of weekend shift loadings for casual library shelvers.

They are misinterpreting the General Staff Enterprise Agreement.

They are asking shelvers to specify their preferred times. They then say this is choosing ordinary hours and thus there is no shift penalty.

Members are entitled to the shift loading.
