DADHC URGENT BULLETIN – UNAUTHORISED DOCUMENT

09 June 2004

The PSA is aware that a document is being distributed to staff in group homes titled ”Recognition of Prior Learning”. There is no indication on this document as to the author and it appears to not be an official departmental document.

The document appears to advise staff that permanent officers who do not have Certificate III qualification may have their salaries decreased as a result of making of the new Award.

This is absolutely incorrect. The Association has notified the Department of the existence of this document. They have advised us that they will be investigating the source of the document and will be issuing correct information to staff.

Members should be particularly aware that advice issued in documents that are not authored or authorized as official documents may not be the correct advice. In this particular instance the wrong information has caused unnecessary anxiety amongst our members.

If you see this memo, the PSA instructs members to destroy it or forward it to their regional management and not distribute it further.

If anybody has concerns about this they should contact Ayshe Lewis, Principal Industrial Officer, PSA on (02) 9220 0961 or email alewis@psa.asn.au.

Authorised by John Cahill, General Secretary, Public Service Association of NSW
